The Acupuncture Practitioners Organisation (APO) has been established to enhance the understanding of evidence based acupuncture and promote its use as part of your treatment in podiatry, sports/massage therapy, osteopathy, chiropractic, physiotherapy, coaches and personal trainers. We accredit and approve acupuncture courses run by other schools, colleges and training institutions. The use of acupuncture for the management of musculoskeletal disorders, systemic, psychological, pre and post natal and dermatological conditions is becoming more popular within the west and is now being successfully employed by members of the health care profession, sports/massage therapists, coaches and personal trainers. The APO is here to support, educate and encourage Practitioners who are interested in using acupuncture as a sole treatment or as an adjunct therapy for the management of these conditions. Members are bound by a strict code of ethics, rules and regulations and a code of professional conduct. They are obliged to comply with local health authority safety, hygiene and sterilisation requirements and carry full indemnity insurance and attend CPD courses. |

We provide continual support for our newly qualified practitioners and encourage you to call us regarding advice on treatment protocols. We look forward to sharing our knowledge of acupuncture with you benefiting in turn from the enthusiasm and skills you will undoubtedly bring to our organisation. We hope that, following your foundation course, you progress on to the Certificate in Acupuncture which will greatly enhance your understanding of acupuncture and its use to treat a wider range of conditions. In addition to our membership, we can also provide full insurance cover for acupuncture alone or for any of your existing therapies providing you hold the relevant certificates.
